The sixth and final week of races in the Breeders Cup 2013 segment have been posted. The place to be this holiday weekend is Ozone Park, NY were we will be following 4 graded stakes races throughout the day.

Race 1: The Demoiselle Stakes.
First up we have the $400,000 Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes for 2 year old Fillies. Todd Pletcher has a whopping 3 horses in the field for this race, can he get it done? either way he’ll be heavily invested in the 3 yr old fillies come next year.

Race 2: The Comely Stakes.
Next up is the Grade 3 Comely Stakes for 3 year old Fillies. Wedding Toast, Galloping Giraffe, and Toasting are all coming off victories in their last start.

Race 3: The Cigar Mile.
The feature race of the day, the $500,000 Cigar Mile goes of at 3:20pm EST featuring a ton of great horses. This may be the toughest race of the day. Flat Out faces Goldcents, Groupie Doll, Verrazano and 7 other challengers. Be there or be square!

Race 4: The Remsen Stakes.
To round out the days races at the Big A we have the $400,000 Remsen Stakes for 2 year olds. Will we see a derby contender come from this group? Who knows? That may have to wait until next year…

Race 5: The Kentucky Jockey Club.
We have 2 more races on the day. The Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes G2 features 10 tow year olds going 1 1/16 miles at Churchill Downs. Dale Romans, Steve Asmussen, Ken McPeek and Bill Mott are bringing theirs to the track Saturday, while Pletcher is without a doubt going all in at Aqueduct on the day. Cornelio Garcia recommends taking a look at Almost Famous out of Unbridled’s Song and Tapiture out of Tapit (winner of the 2004 Wood Memorial).

Race 6: The Hawthorne Gold Cup.
Lastly is the Hawthorne Gold Cup handicap for $350,000. Last Gunfighter is heavily favored in the morning line odds, and faces an inconsistent Alpha, but don’t forget Derby Kitten.

This will be the final race in the 2013 Breeders Cup segment of the Pick 6 Challenge. Mark’s Bomb’s Away Stables is in 1st place with 16 wins, and a hefty lead in winnings at $195. Second is Tracy’s Charles River Stables just 1 win back, and at $144 in winnings. Currently in 3rd with 14 wins is Pamplemousse Stables. Who has what it takes to pass mark in the final week?
