We are back with the 2022 Breeders Cup Qualifier Challenge. Each week we will have a different Breeder’s Cup qualifier race to pick from and a few stakes races thrown in there too. This week we have 2 races from Saratoga, Churchill Downs, and Del Mar. Good luck everyone, happy racing, happier betting.
Race 1: Saratoga Special Stakes (G2)
- Gulfport – Winner of both starts, high speed figs, winner by combined 19 lengths, high percentage jockey / trainer, working out well.
- Damon’s Mound – Hit a 93 speed fig, second best speed in the race, recovered well from a slow start, winner by 12 lengths.
Race 2: Beverly D Stakes (G1)
- Lily Pond – Trusting Aidan O’Brien and his shipper here, also Johnny V gets the mount. Winner last race and may have found a good distance, generally dropping to shorter 1 1/8.
- Family Way – I like that she is dropping distance, second last race, working out well, finished on the board in 6 of last 7 starts, familiar jockey.
- Rougir – Coming off 4 90+ Beyers, should be fast enough, Chad Brown trained, experience in G1 company, working out well.
- Princess Grace – Winner last race and working bullets? Tough race.
Race 3: Fourstardave Handicap (G1)
- Regal Glory – Winner of last 4, winner of 3/3 at Saratoga, multiple wins at distance, highest speed figs, high percentage trainer, working out well.
- Masen – Winner of last 2 at distance, will try to wire the field with Get Smokin, high percentage trainer, 4 2-2-0 record at distance, working well.
- Casa Creed – Consistently high speed figs, winner last race, working well, inside post on the inner turf is preferred, 24% winner last race, high percentage jockey, not sure if he can keep up with Masen.
Race 4: Arlington Million Stakes (G1)
- Smooth Like Strait – High speed figs, hit the board in all of last 10 starts, winner at distance and at track, working well.
- Santin – Winner at track, winner at distance, dropping distance, working out well, high speed figs, winner Turf Classic at distance.
- Sacred Life – Winner last race at distance, Chad Brown trained, moving up in class, lots of experience at distance though.
Race 5: Yellow Ribbon Handicap (G2)
- Going Global – Winner of 3 of last 5 and 2 of 3 at Del Mar, High percentage jockey, good trainer, working out well, dropping in distance.
- Flippant – Not underestimating Jersey Joe, high speed figs, winner last race, winner at distance, wins half of turf races.
- Kind of a toss up between Avenue de France and Park Avenue – both moving up in class, giving the edge to Park Avenue having beaten Avenue de France last time out.
Race 6: Sorrento Stakes (G2)
- Procrastination – Winner by 8 lengths in debut, high percentage trainer, working out well.
- Absolutely Zero – Winner of only 2 starts, good speed figs, working out well.
- Vegas Magic – Winner of only 2 starts, moving up in class and distance, heavily bet.
Good to be back racing, best of luck everyone.
See if you can beat me.
