Not a lot of stakes races after the big Belmont Stakes weekend, but I was still able to find 6 for us to pick from. Let’s have a look.
Race 1: Salvator Mile Stakes (G3)
- NY Traffic – Seems to be a class above the rest of the field. High percentage jockey/trainer, fast speed, last race was a win, but way down in class, this horse is used to triple crown contending races.
- Galerio – Experience at distance, first or second in 8 of 9 starts at distance, consistent speed figures. Working out well, moving up in class.
- West Will Power – Has won at distance, coming off a win, high percentage jockey/trainer, working out well, has won 2/2 at Monmouth.
Race 2: Dancin Renee Stakes
- Sadie Lady – 2 wins in last 3 races, has won 5/9 at distance, high percentage jockey/trainer, has some good recent speed figs, working out well.
- Good Credence – Similar to Sadie Lady, experience at Belmont, high speed figs, ran second last race, hit the board in 6/7 at Belmont.
- Ruvies in Time – High percentage jockey, distance specialist, won 6/14 at distance, high speed figs, but poor performance last race, winner of 2/9 at Belmont, may improve with return to 6f.
- Just Missed – Espresso Shot – dropping in distance, working well.
Race 3: Ginger Punch Stakes
- Summering – Won last race with highest speed, high percentage trainer, winner of 2/5 at distance, won only start this year so far, working bullets.
- Shifty She – Won last race, winner of 4/6 lifetime, high percentage jockey/trainer, winner of 3/5 at Gulfstream Park, 27% winner last race.
- Mo of the West – On pedigree, winner of 2/4 at distance, consistent speed figs, high percentage jockey/trainer, winner of 3/8 at Gulfstream.
Race 4: Thor’s Echo Handicap
- Colt Fiction – Winner of last 2, winner of 2/4 at distance, winner of 2/3 at Santa Anita, high percentage jockey, moving up in class.
- Fashionably Fast – Consistent speed figs, winner of 3/7 at distance, hit the board 9/10 times at Santa Anita with 4 wins, working out well.
- Brickyard Ride – Failed miserably in allowance last time out, high percentage jockey, has high speed in the past and working bullets, is he ready today?
Race 5: Albany Stakes
- Brandothebartender – Winner last 2, lots of experience at distance, hit the board in 5/6 this year, consistent high speed figs, working out well.
- Give Me the Lute – Winner of 3/5 at Golden Gate, winner 2/5 at distance, winner 3/6 in 2021, dropping in distance, good speed, working out well, high percentage trainer/jockey.
- Bettor Trip Nick – High percentage jockey, working out well, dropping to shorter distance, front running style may hold up.
Race 6: Mint Julep Stakes (G3)
- Juliet Foxtrot – Winner last race, high percentage jockey/trainer, high speed figs, winner at distance, winner at Churchill Downs, working out well.
- Crystal Ball – Winner of last 2, high percentage trainer, moving up in class, racing turf for first time.
- She’sonthewarpath – Winner of 3/6 at distance, high speed figs, working out well, seems more consistent speed wise.
Well there you have it, think you can pick better, then try and beat me at the Pick 6 Challenge.
