Here we are, the first of the triple crown races for 2020 starts today at Belmont. There are 6 races on the card for the Pick 6 Challenge , including one from Churchill Downs, and one from Santa Anita Park. Let’s get to it!

Race 1: Pennine Ridge Stakes (G2)

• Decorated Invader – seems the pick of the bunch, fast, coming off a win, won 3 of last 4, high percentage trainer
• Proven Strategies – hit the board the last 3 races, has some graded stakes experience, dropping in distance
• Vanzzy – coming off a win, dropping in distance, poor showing at Withers is concerning, could be a good price

Race 2: Longines Acorn Stakes (G1)

• Gamine – undefeated, fast, working out well, high percentage jockey
• Lucrezia – has won at distance, dropping distance, has the speed, 2nd last race, working out well
• Casual – fast, undefeated, but has never gone the distance, high percentage jockey and trainer

Race 3: Jaipur Stakes (G1)

• Pure Sensation – I like horses that have gone the distance before, has the speed, high percentage jockey and trainer, knocks are failing last race as the favorite, hasn’t raced in months
• Stubbins – fast too, won the Woodford, hasn’t gone distance, poor recent results
• Hidden Scroll – fast, experienced jockey, front runner, lost rider last race, doubt he will stay at 8-1, great value though
• Just Missed – Oleksandra, Kanthanka – both fast and working well

Race 4: Wise Dan Stakes (G2)

• Factor This – working bullets, coming off 2 wins – at distance!, high percentage trainer, highest speed
• Aquaphobia – working well, plenty of experience at distance, high speed
• Parlor – working out well, high percentage jockey/trainer, hit the board last 3, plenty of experience at distance

Race 5: Belmont Stakes (G1)

• Tiz the Law – your favorite coming off wins in Fla Derby, and Holy Bull, fast, winner of 4/5
• Dr Post – doesn’t have the stakes experience, but also fast, high percentage jockey and trainer, moving up in class, this is the horse that comes from nowhere, with no experience, and beats the best out there
• Modernist – 3 races in 2020, won 2, at distance!, working out well, 3rd in LaDerby, but may improve with shorter distance
• Just Missed – Sole Volante – won last race, has the speed, oddly raced turf first 2 races

Race 6: Snow Chief Stakes

• Margot’s Boy – winner of last 3, also over Indian Peak, working out well, moving up in class
• Indian Peak – switches to Mike Smith, scratched last race to enter here, working out well, could overcome this week?
• California Kook – crazy high jockey/trainer win percentage, can they get it done today?, working out well, winner of last race

Well, there you have it. I am going to try and not lose all my bets this week.
