We’ve got a huge day of prep races and racing this Saturday. There were so many races I just couldn’t fit them all into the Pick 6 Challenge. So disappointing. But that doesn’t mean you can’t watch them and bet on your own time. Let’s have a look at the races we do have in the challenge this week.

Race 1: Honey Fox Stakes (G3)

• Jouster – Consistent high speed figs, high percentage jockey and trainer, graded stakes winner, winner at distance, 2/2 at Gulfstream Park.
• Alms – High speed figs, second last race, 2 wins at distance, high percentage jockey, working bullets.
• Gift List – Graded stakes winner, hit the board in 8/9 lifetime starts, working bullets.
• Long Shot – Navratilova – Winner last race in G3, winner at distance, high speed fig last race, could surprise at long odds.

Race 2: Gotham Stakes (G3)

• Rockefeller – Consistent high speed figs, winner at distance, graded stakes winner, second to Newgrange, working out well, to the front like everyone else.
• Morello – 2/2 lifetime with wins at Aqueduct. Working bullets, moving up in class, hasn’t gone distance.
• Dean’s List – Undefeated, hasn’t raced track, hasn’t raced distance, good speed figs, high percentage trainer, working out well, moves to the front like half the field.

Race 3: San Felipe Stakes (G2)

• Forbidden Kingdom – Winner of the San Vicente, highest speed figs, winner at track, working out well, high percentage jockey / trainer, hasn’t gone route distance.
• Doppelganger – Lost San Vicente last time out, working bullets, high percentage jockey/trainer, chance for revenge.
• Armagnac – Has won at distance, increasing speed figs, high percentage jockey/trainer, winner last race, winner Santa Anita, working bullets, can’t leave out Baffert at Santa Anita.
• Just Missed – Cabo Spirit – Adequate speed figs, Graded Stakes experience, hit the board in last 5 starts, just might not have enough to challenge the top horses this race.

Race 4: Fountain of Youth (G2)

• Simplification – Some high speed figs, winner at track, has gone route distance, working out well, high percentage jockey, second last race.
• Emmanuel – High speed figs, undefeated, working bullets, high percentage jockey/trainer, could dominate at the front, moving up in class.
• Rattle N Roll – Winner last race in G1 Futurity, 2/2 winner at distance, working out well, winner last 2 races, could pass a lot of horses in the stretch.
• Just Missed – In Due Time – Increasing speed figs, increasing distance, working out well, winner of 2/3 lifetime and 1/2 at GP, may sit off the pace and jump up for the win.

Race 5: Santa Anita Handicap (G1)

• Express Train – Winner last 2 races, high speed figs, hit the board in 8/9 at Santa Anita, graded stakes winner, working out well.
• Stilleto Boy – High speed figs, always lurking but hasn’t won since July 2021, switches to high percentage jockey.
• Why Why Paul Why – Competitive speed figs, winner of 4 before bested last race. Hasn’t gone distance, high percentage jockey, chance to prove himself at a track other tan Parx.

Race 6: John Battaglia Memorial Stakes

• Tiz the Bomb – Hoping for vast improvement over last race, and return to form, second in BC Juvenile Turf, with 3 wins before that, will look foolish if he doesn’t fire.
• Bloodline – Increasing speed figs, high percentage trainer, win at distance, working out well.
• Erase – Increasing speed figs, high percentage trainer, winner last race, winner at Turfway, might have a tougher shot at making the lead and holding on today. I feel like this is a better choice than Stolen Base has finished behind other horses in this field multiple times.
