We are in luck, the Mint Millions was rescheduled for this weekend, and we are tossing in 5 more turf races! You might think we are in turfway paradise but we are not. We’ve got 2 Breeder’s Cup qualifier races and 6 turf races to pick this weekend. I couldn’t get all the Kentucky Downs races in, and there were a few from Del Mar I needed to leave out, but we’ve got the Baltimore/Washington International in here too. Let’s get a look at these large fields!

Race 1: Mint Million Stakes (G3)

• Atone – Consistent high speed figs, high percentage jockey / trainer, hasn’t won in a year though, winner of 3/7 at distance.
• Mr Dumas – Competitive speeds last 3 1 mile races, consistent 90 ‘s speed figs, winner of 2/7 at distance, moving up in class.
• Pixelate – Winner of Mint Million last year, but done nothing since, beaten favorite, winner at track and at distance, working out well, much better jockey, but too low odds, better options?
• Somelikeithotbrown – A little inconsistent, but winner of last race by 6, high speed figs, high percentage jockey / trainer, coming off only 2 weeks rest though.
• Original Pick – Grays Fable – Winner last race, winner of 5/10 at distance, high speed figs, beat Mr Dumas twice, has put in the times at this distance to win the race in the past.

Race 2: Ladies Turf Stakes (G3)

• Princess Grace – Dropping back to a mile, winner of 3/5 at distance, winner at track, winner of Ladies Turf in 2021, lots of graded stakes experience, betting on a return to form here.
• Dalika – Winner last race and beat Princess Grace, but dropping back to a distance with less success. Winner at track, graded stakes experience.
• Lady Speightspeare – Winner of 2/3 at distance, winner of last 2, high speed figs at distance, working out well.
• There is really a lot to like in this race, I could see Hendy Woods making a run at this too.

Race 3: Baltimore/Washington Intl Turf Cup S. (G3)

• Set Piece – High speed figs, winner at distance, winner at Pimlico, OK workouts.
• Public Sector – High speed figs, winner at distance, working bullets, has raced will over all.
• Sifting Sands – Winner of 3/3 at distance, speeds are pretty good at distance despite not being graded stakes races, may be ready to move up?

Race 4: Turf Sprint Stakes (G2)

• Arrest Me Red – High speed figs, high percentage trainer, winner of 3/4 at distance.
• Bran – Can hang around at distance, winner at distance, consistent 90’s speed figs, second to Arrest me Red in the turf sprint, working out well.
• Necker Island – Winner of last 2, first time on turf in a long time, consistent 90’s speed figs, working out well.

Race 5: Turf Cup Stakes (G2)

• Arklow – Consistent high speed figs, winner at distance, 4 2-2-0 record at Kentucky Downs, rested, dropping in distance, working out well.
• Gufo – Winner of the Sword Dancer, high speed figs, winner of 4/6 at distance, not sure I trust him off a 2 week layoff.
• Temple – Dropping distance, good speed figs, high percentage jockey / trainer, graded stakes experience, working well, no wins at track or at distance.

Race 6: Franklin-Simpson Stakes (G2)

• Big Invasion – Winner of last 6 races, high speed figs, hasn’t gone distance yet, high percentage jockey /trainer, worked bullets prior to last starts.
• Sumter – 90’s speed figs last 3 races, dropping distance, winner of 3 of last 4, dropping distance, working out well, stakes experience.
• Run Curtis Run – Coming off 2 second place finishes, decent speed, good workouts, high percentage trainer, working out well, but beaten by big invasion several times.
